The Trevithick Trust (Camborne) is named after
Richard Trevithick (1771-1833),
Cornwall’s most famous son and a key figure in the development of steam power.
He built the world’s first practical railway locomotives, the first propelled
(steam) road carriage and the first high-pressure steam pumping engines apart
from his other numerous far-sighted and ingenious contributions to the
industrial revolution. |

Vault Beach is located in an area of National Trust-owned land at Dodman Point, south of St Austell.

The resort of Perranporth is situated on the north Cornwall
coast, south-west of Newquay. It boasts a huge sandy beach backed by
the sand dunes of Penhale Sands. Naturist use of

The National Seal Sanctuary is set in the picturesque Helford
Estuary, by the beautiful village of Gweek, in Cornwall. The Sanctuary is a busy
rescue centre, and also has resident Grey Seals, Californian and Patagonian Sea
Lions, Goats, Ponies, and Donkeys. |
